"Creating Community, Providing Opportunity"

Maple Ridge Secondary School
Ecole Secondaire de Maple Ridge

MRSS School sign imageMRSS is a dual track English & French Immersion secondary school. Programs include Advanced Placement, honour courses, gifted, digital arts academy, learning assistance, cafeteria training and so much more. Due to the large array of programs there are many course options including chamber choir, jazz band, ceramics and sculpture, cabinet construction, automotive technology, Spanish, Japanese, German, digital video and animation and cook training, to name but a few. Additionally, students with special needs, whether emotional, physical or cognitive, are provided with flexible, caring environments that best meet a wide range of learning abilities.

Extensive involvement and commitment by staff beyond the classroom creates an array of rich experiences where students continue their pursuit of excellence. MRSS has gained many team and individual provincial championships. At MRSS we have variety of team sports including badminton, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, curling, field hockey, golf, power lifting, rugby, soccer, swimming and water polo, tennis, track & field, volleyball and wrestling. Our music program is second to none. During the year the music program invites the community to concerts showcasing the jazz band, concert band, concert choir, chamber choir and vocal jazz.

MRSS Introduces FLEX TIME

What is flex time? Flex time is a period of instructional time built into the daily schedule that empowers students by giving them some measure of choice and control over their own learning. During flex time, students are expected to be in a class, working on school work, either individually or in groups, meeting with teachers for support on classwork, or working on projects, under teacher supervision, that they are passionate about. For more about Flex Time click here.
